The ‘Light Work’ rapper said he would “kill this” when referring to the melodic side of making rap music in this current climate when we spoke back in November about music. Listening to this track off his latest project “Light Work 2 Bars & Melodies” you can sense the confidence and talent Bizzle comes with to blend the two very well.
I found that praying was the easy part . . . then you gotta wait
At first, I thought there would be only the melodic singing, but he touches it up with the bars too, which allows the listener to enjoy what they’ve come to know Bizzle for without limiting him.
I suppose there are going to be a segregated minority who will be punching those keyboard letters, regarding the ‘Rolls Royce’ in the video. Honestly “So What?!?” Does it really matter in this case? I think we need to see this through eyes of discernment and in simplicity too . . . “It’s just a car!” – Furthermore, there are things going on in music that we should be highlighting and I don’t believe this to be one of them.
I’ve come too far to make a dummy move
The message is the most striking part of this track. Most importantly, he talks about the ultimate path maker which is Jesus, in contrast to last year (which was difficult for him), to this year where the human impulse is to grab the steering wheel. Developing patience after prayer is not always easy, but required. There is a realignment of trust to the Lord and a reality check that all he’s achieved has been from God.
I think Bizzle sets a great standard, not just the flexibility of his talent of production which is class. He sets a standard that “looking to Jesus” throughout life’s up’s and downs is integral and necessary to survive and grow as a believer.
