Flame's new EP, Daybreak, is a short but straight to the point project that doesn't shy away from the touchy subject of social injustice. While looking through the lens of American Christianity, he points out the errors. He goes on to redirect his audience in the right direction according to Biblical standards.
Recently we saw the culmination of Christian Rapper Flame's real name (Marcus Gray) lawsuit with Pop Superstar Katy Perry regarding the misuse of the music copyright for his track Joyful Noise which featured Lecrae. Her song Dark Horse with overt occult overtones resembled similar chords patterns and beat arrangement which was intrinsically similar to flames track.
We discuss if the compiling of the CHH list was effective to move the genre forward. Do we need it or was it an unnecessary move? There are many factors that go into personal lists, from record sold to influence and recognition, is this a healthy topic for our genre which can be prone to easy offence?
